1 - Arsenal 1 Manchester United 0 (1998)

Arsenal hadn’t won the league title since 1991 but the 1997-98 season provided them a brilliant opportunity to claim the coveted prize. The Gunners headed to Old Trafford in March hoping to reduce the points gap and land a psychological blow on title-chasers Manchester United.
Arsene Wenger’s side looked like the more confident team and started dominating the game early in the first half. Martin Keown and Tony Adams gave an outstanding defensive display and prevented United from creating many scoring opportunities in the match. Their attack was just as impressive, with Overmars, Bergkamp, Anelka, Petit, and Wreh causing all sorts of problems for the Red Devils.

Even then it took a long time for the visitors to break the deadlock, with Overmars scoring a superb goal from Aneka’s flick. However, that strike proved enough to claim a memorable victory for them. The London side went on to win the league title that season.

2 - Arsenal 1 Manchester United 0 (2002)

Manchester United had just been knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals, but the Old Trafford fans couldn’t find any joy when their side returned to the Premier League in May 2002 to play against Arsenal.

The Red Devils put all their efforts to knock their opponents out of their stride but nothing seemed to work for them. The Gunners stood firm and didn’t let their opponents have many scoring opportunities. And they deservedly got ahead in the second half when Sylvain Wiltord popped up the winner in the 57th minute of the match. With this incredible victory at Old Trafford, the Gunners sealed the domestic double.

3 - Arsenal 3 Manchester United 0 (2015)

This was one of the most emphatic performances of Arsenal against Manchester United. Wenger’s men decided the fate of the game within the opening 20 minutes and left their rivals stunned with their outstanding display of football.

Alexis Sanchez struck the first blow in the 6th minute before Mesut Ozil got on the scoresheet a minute later with Theo Walcott the provider. The Chilean proved to be a nightmare for United’s defence as he earned a brace with a brilliant 18-yard strike to put the game beyond their opponents. Arsenal could have extended their score-line further if they hadn’t squandered several opportunities.
